Our children work incredibly hard so it is important that they all have chance to enjoy a safe and happy playtime. We believe passionately that all children have the right to feel safe and the right to play. Our mission is to ensure that all our children feel included at playtimes and have the opportunity to develop their imaginations and be active. Staff supervise and lead games, and a first-aid trained member of staff is available in case they are needed.
We have a wide variety of sports resources such as hoops, skipping ropes, balls, football goals etc and the children love being able to use these with their friends. We also have a Fairy Garden, Investigation Station and Bug Hotels for the children to explore during their playtimes.
We try to go outside everyday in order for the children to benefit from some fresh air and our beautiful grounds. We therefore ask that children come to school equipped the appropriate outdoor wear (coats, gloves, hats etc. in the winter and sun hats in the summer) However, if the weather is extreme we will need to stay indoors in order to keep the children safe and cool/dry. In these cases the children are provided with a range of indoor activities such as construction, drawing/colouring, books, role-play and the use of the Interactive Whiteboard.
At lunchtimes we have several lunchtime clubs that run throughout the week. This includes an art club, reading club, sports clubs and other clubs that the school council have suggested to us.
